Our Planet, Our Health.
Today is the World Health Day - a global health awareness day celebrated every year on the 7th of April, which marks the anniversary of the founding of World Health Organisation (WHO) in 1948. Over the past years the World Health Day has drawn worldwide attention to various subjects of major importance to global health such as mental health, maternal and child care, vector-borne diseases and many more. The theme for this year’s World Health Day is ‘Our planet, our health’ with the focus on urgent actions needed to keep people and the planet healthy.
"Healthy societies rely on well-functioning ecosystems to provide clean air, fresh water, medicines and food security. These help to limit disease and stabilize the climate."
- World Health Organisation
Our health and the health of our planet are inextricably linked, and the need to focus on creating healthy societies on a healthy planet is becoming more and more apparent. A clean environment is vital in keeping us physically, psychologically and emotionally healthy. That’s why we should all unite and start making healthy choices and taking care of our planet.
